ASHGOLD SET TO SIGN FORMER ADUANA STALWART DEFENDER

Former Aduana Stars defender Stephen Anokye Badu has completed his one year move to Kuwaiti Premier league side Al Tadhamon Sporting Club. The robust and rugged center back joined the Kuwaiti based club in October 2018,  having joined Oman Premier league side Sohar FC from Aduana Stars. 

Back home after the end of his deal, 'Atronie' revealed to Sports Forum on Time Fm that he is opened to a move to join any Ghanaian Premier League side. Anokye Badu also made it known that there a host of African based clubs after his signature.

"I have approaches from some local clubs as well some clubs on the continent too. I'm open to any local club. We are looking to God though. Whatever comes my way that I deem better, I will append my signature to it."

Quizzed further by the host of the Saturday sports program, Ernest Acheampong (Kalakuta) the former B.A United rear guard disclosed his readiness to join Ashantigold SC based on talks held.

"Ashgold has been in talks with me even when I was in Kuwait. I'm ready to join them'.

Ashantigold will be representing Ghana in the CAF Confederations Cup in 2020/21. The club are short in the central areas of defense having lost Yusif Mubarik and released Musa Mohammed. 

Stephen Anokye Badu was a member of the 2016 Ghana under-20 squad.

PROJECT THE POSITIVES OF THE GAME- NII ADJEI CRAVES

Ace Ghanaian midfielder, Daniel Nii Adjei has called for the propagation of the productive aspect of the local game. The winner of 5 CAF-Inter Club gold medals also touched on the need for information management within his former club, Asante Kotoko.

Interviewed on Time FM, by Ernest Acheampong (Kalakuta), the 31 year old, explicitly called on the media to desist from taking much interest in the negative details of the game. 

"I did not see that. I don't know why the media wants to always carry the negative news. In Europe for example, the spotlight isn't usually on the bad aspects."

 

 

Nii Adjei won the Ghana Premier League on 3 occasions with Asante Kotoko in his 6 year stay at the Kumasi based club. Quizzed on the purported wrangles between the club's new CEO and Board of Directors, the former club captain offered the club good counsel.

"For Kotoko, how long has the CEO been in charge? Do they want him to succeed or not? I will also blame Kotoko a bit. They should learn to keep some information to themselves. They always give information preceding their actions. From now they should watch those within them who keep putting issues out. I believe this will help the club."

'Ga Mantse' as known in the football circles, Nii Adjei has represented TP Mazembe (DR Congo) and Wydad Athletic Club (Morrocco). He featured at the FIFA World Club Cup with TP Mazembe in 2015. He is currently on the books of Kumasi based King Faisal where he signed a one year deal having been released by Kotoko. He rejoined the later in 2019.

'ANGRY' 2015/16 PRINCESSES CALL ON GOVERNMENT FOR PAYMENT OF BONUSES

Often than not, service to one's nation is deemed as sacrificial and an honor.  Irrespective of this, once a promise is made to also honor an individual for their service, it is mandatory to be heeded to. A two way flow!

In 2015, a bevy of ladies were called to represent Ghana as the nation sought to qualify for the 2016 World Youth Tournament in Papua New Guinea after 3 round of games. Ghana exited the 2016 tourney after a defeat to New Zealand whilst they held giants France and USA to stalemates.

5 years down the lane, the players are yet to receive their match bonuses. The bonuses totaling $12,000 for the players who featured in all 6 games (qualifiers and world cup). 

As a welfare-centered media house, Time FM's sports desk led by Nana Kalakuta engaged some of the victims notably Rita Darko and Belinda Anane. The two players confirmed the sad story to be true.

"It's true, we played the qualifiers under the administration of the former President of Ghana, John Mahama. Soon after we returned from the qualifiers, there was a change in government in about a month or two. We met the then minister of sports (Nii Lante) who offered as a quarter of the due money."

"He assured us that the next minister will pay us after the handing over ceremony. It's been 5 years without any payment. We called Nana Benyin (Head of Management team at the time) who informed us about about a proposal sent to the current ministry"

Rita has been on the books of Atletico Ouirense in Portugal since 2016 with Belinda currently a student in the USA.

                                                           

A quick call made to the quarters of Nana Benyin revealed that the player's are yet to receive the said bonuses. He however made it known that a proposal has been sent to the FA to work in tandem with the ministry to get the arrears settled.

Grapevine sources divulged that Mr. Alex Asante, an administrator at the FA rubbished calls from the girls claiming it was not right for players to write letters to the ministry whilst asserting that it is not the only outstanding bonus owed by the ministry.

A quarter of the money owed them was paid in 2016. Currently, the players have formed an informal group to retrieve their arrears.
