SEX FOR JOBS IN KUMAWOOD IS A LIE- MERCY ASIEDU

Mercy Asiedu, popularly known in the Ghanaian movie industry as "Asabea" has expressed her view on actresses offering sex to get roles in movies. A popular notion making waves, female actresses have been bashed by many in times past for trading sex for major or minor performances in movies.

Being interviewed by Akwasi Ampofo (Aboboyaa), the host of Anigye Mmere on Time FM, Mercy Asiedu refuted the claims presented above stating further that anyone who makes that claim only does it for popularity sake.

"It's never true that this happens in the movie industry. I don't know where whoever said it originates from. Most people complain about that because of lack of roles or sudden abandonment after a movie or two."

 

Elucidating, the sought-after actresses added that roles are based on merit since movies are an investment which must reap profits through gaining a bigger audience.

"I want to use your medium to clarify this. We get our roles based on merit. So if someone gets the nod over you it doesn't mean the person offered sex to get that."

"If someone offers sex and cannot meet the demands of the script, do you think the producer or director will be glad about that? Whoever says that is saying it just for fame."

Currently, with the downward trod of the local movie industry, Mercy Asiedu, a mother of two, has taken to her own series production.

NANA AGYEMANG- "SELF-CONTROL" IS GOSPEL INSPIRED

Contentious musician, Nana Agyemang believes that his current single "Self-Control" is a gospel song. The ace musician disclosed this in an interview with Akwasi Ampofo (Aboboyaa) on Time FM.

The 4 music album holder, traced his music beginnings to the church. In this single, he quoted Romans 7:15 as the basis for the single.

"I started music with gospel bands, precisely the Roman Catholic band. Most of my songs are gospel inspired for example my latest single."

The musician hinted at all his songs being gospel oriented due to his upbringing.

Popular Ghanaian actor and musician, Kwadwo Nkansah (Lil Win) has disclosed to Akwasi Ampofo, the host of  'Anigye mmre' on Time FM about a sudden gap between him and Tracy Boakye.

In recent times, the name Tracy Boakye, an actress cum producer has been on the lips of many a Ghanaian for the wrong reasons. She has recently being involved in verbal feud with Mzbel, a female musician. This feud was extended to Ghanaian Member of Parliament, Honorable Kennedy Agyapong.

Her war of words was centered on an affair with a yet to be named man who also dated Mzbel. The sudden bad name she's attracting prompted Akwasi Ampofo to quiz Lil Win if he had offered her any advice knowing the relationship between the two.

This prompted the actor and musician to make the shocking revelation about Tracy avoiding him and other actors as well.

"Tracy has decided to do what she's doing. I cannot reach her through her phone number. She has (probably) blocked (blacklisted) everyone from her for advice."

Lil win recently featured in Tracy Boakye's production dubbed Baby Mama  with other big industry players like Kalsoum Sinare,  Xandy, Akuapem Poloo, Yaa Jackson, Shugatiti, Kalybos, Moesha, Bill Asamoah, Kofi Ajololo, Vivian Jill and many others.

NANA AGYEMANG ALLUDES TO TECHNOLOGY MAKING MUSIC EASY

Ace Ghanaian musician, Nana Agyemang known for his controversial songs has made it known that the current breed of high-life musicians are having things on a silver platter. Nana Agyemang who has four albums to his name in an interview on Time FM also took the opportunity to speak on his new single 'Self-Control'.

Speaking to Time Brunch host, Akwasi Ampofo, the controversial musician traced his beginnings to gospel bands going on to claim most of his songs are gospel. He also hinted on his relationship with the late Ghanaian music queen, Ewurama Badu claiming his talent is inherent.

"My music is based on social issues and creativity. I always like to stand out. I write my own music. My mum is a good singer and also the late Ewurama Badu was my auntie."

A reminiscent Nana Agyemang named 'Araba' as the song that swung him to fame whilst making a plea with some old names in the industry to make a comeback. He also advised the current musicians on how to make good and lasting songs whilst blaming technology for making music too easy.

"I have called K.K Fosu to come back. Kwame Eugene, Kidi and and King Promise are doing well but they should work on their sound programming to create a difference. They should also add bridges to ease monotony. It's (music) easier now than before due to technology. This makes them all sound similar."

"My song 'Araba' took me far. I remember in 2000, I was selected for the Miss Ghana national tour".

Despite the modern musicians having it easy due to technology, Nana Agyemang expressed an interest in having a collaboration with some whilst encouraging them to have 'live band' performances over miming.

"I will be interested in having a collaboration with Kwame Eugene and Afia Awindor (Efya). Also, as musicians we should opt for live band performances since it provides room for creativity during performances."

Nana Agyemang who has some classical songs like 'Kwahu Bepo' is currently promoting his new single 'self-control' which he asserts to be one of his many gospel songs.
