GREENSTREET ELECTED TO LEAD THE CPP FOR THE 2020 POLLS

The Convention People's Party (CPP) on Saturday elected Mr. Ivor Kobina Greenstreet as the presidential candidate of the party for the 2020 presidential elections.

He defeated two other contestants; Mr Bright Oblitey Akwetey and Mr Divine Ayivor, for the presidential candidate's slot.
At the end of the election, Mr Greenstreet amassed 1,364 votes while Mr Akwetey had 597 and Mr Ayivor, 171.
 
  
For the General Secretary contest, Nana Yaa Jantuah beat the acting General Secretary, Mr James Kwabena Bomfeh to emerge winner.
She polled 1,389 as against 752 for Mr Bomfeh.
In the National Chairmanship race, Nana Akosua Frimpongmaa Sarpong Kumakuma emerged winner with 915 votes while Ahjia Hamdatu Ibrahim Haruna polled 682 with Nana Oduro Kwarteng recording 362 votes. Mr Kwaku Quansah had 162 votes.
Mr. Onsy Kwame Nkrumah was elected vice chairman. He polled 1,013 of the votes while Emmanuel Ogborjor had 720 and John Benjamin Daniels, 377.
Other winners were, Hajia Sulley Futa, women's organiser; Osei Kofi Acquah, youth organiser; Moses Yirimambo, national organiser and Emmanuel Opare Addo, national treasurer.
