REVEALED: ELVIS OPOKU PAID 50,000 TO ADUANA TO EARN HIS MOVE TO LCFC

Legon Cities' recently recruited midfield gem, Elvis Opoku has opened up about claims of joining the club majorly for financial reasons.

According to the 2014 FA Cup golden boot winner, he worked his way out from Dormaa based Aduana Stars for another challenge. He cited that he even paid out his former club to join the Accra based side.

The midfielder who was nearing the end of his contract was said to have received Ghs 60,000 as his enticement fee with his former club also receiving Ghs 50,000.

"Money is part of our work but I did not come to Legon Cities because of money else Dormaahene (Owner of Aduana Stars) was ready to pay any amount that I wanted but I decided that I need a new challenge."

"I am here to work hard for the team to come up. Let me make this clear to everybody here that I gave my own Ghs 50,000 to Aduana but it's not Legon Cities who gave Aduana that money."

The 2017 Ghana Premier League winner brought an end to his 6 year stay in Dormaa with his new 2 year deal with Legon Cities FC.

He is expected to form a great pair with former Berekum Chelsea anchor, Foster Ali Braimah.

Elvis is reportedly set to take home Ghs 3,000 as his monthly salary.

The emerging money bags have bagged other names in the transfer market with Asamoah Gyan standing out.
